RustDesk, what is it?

This is a software previously deployed on our Ninja policies that allows our technicians to access your computer remotely, in the same idea as TeamViewer or AnyDesk, but in open source!

RustDesk icons looks like this:

You should find it in Programs on Windows or in Finder on MacOS.

If not, you can download and launch it (even if you are not a computer administrator), as explained on these pages:

RustDesk: Installation and/or configuration MacOS [EN]

RustDesk: Usage without installation (Windows)

<aside> 🍎 If you are a MacOS user, you must authorize the software before you can use it (operation to be done once). The procedure is available on this page: Rustdesk: RustDesk: Installation and/or configuration MacOS [EN]

When you launch RustDesk, you’ll see more information on the screen, but the most important is the ID and password on the left side of the screen.

This information is necessary for the intervention of technicians: they must be transmitted on request from our support.

<aside> 💡 There is also the information that indicates your instance of RustDesk is well operationalized and it is indicated by the color dot at the bottom of the image (above next to "Ready"). This can be red, orange or green depending on the state of communication. The green color indicates that the software is properly connected and therefore accessible.
